Personal Domain Names & Email Addresses

This blog is hosted and supported free of charge by NetSecrets so this is an unashamed "plug" for one of their services.

Increasingly people are finding themselves restricted when using email addresses tied to their Internet Services Provider. If your address is johnsmith987@aol.com or fluffybunny-99@virgin.net you can be forced to stay with AOL (God forbid!) or Virgin even if it would make sense to use another service. This is because once you move away from that provider the email they gave you stops working. Which of course is why they make it so easy for you in order to entrap you into their service, good or bad.

To get around this, and to give a better image too, many people are registering their own domain and email address which is theirs forever and is not tied to any particular supplier. It’s dead easy to set up and costs very little. Please read all about it at NetSecrets’ domain name registration website KwikReg.

Just to prove the point anyone is welcome to email me for more detail using mail@tonyburt.co.uk.

By the way, if you click on the link to KwikReg they will know it came from here and win this blog some brownie points and maybe some extra free services from NetSecrets.
